About Seyi

Seyi Fabode is the cofounder and CEO of Varuna, which uses sensors and cloud-based software to help water utilities, municipal water systems, and water industry consultants monitor distribution systems and predict operational issues. If that’s a mouthful: Seyi and the Varuna team believe that clean water is a right and are fighting to help make it so.

After getting his MBA at the University of Chicago, Seyi founded Power2Switch, a retail electricity marketplace which was later acquired by Choose Energy. He went on to do some consulting and investing before moving to Austin and starting Varuna.

Seyi has had a few other convictions which have served him well. One is curation and sharing of knowledge. On February 28, 2016, he sent out his first Polymathic Weekly email. That newsletter, which became Polymathic Monthly and then a website of the same name, was a way for him to share with the world the insane amounts of knowledge he was consuming, from books to articles to short stories and more.

Another conviction is that writing is good for the soul -- and for opportunity, and for revenue, and more. To write is to think. Polymathic monthly led to books, which led to articles, which led to ghostwriting and conference keynotes and consulting with unicorn startups and being selected as a LinkedIn Top Voice in Technology in 2017.
