TL;DR
Moral of the Story is a podcast in which interesting people tell their favorite short stories and break them down to see what makes them good.
So what’s this all about?
Who doesn’t love a great story?
From the water cooler to the neighborhood bar, we all have our best material ready when the moment is right. If it hits, we bask in the adoration (humbly, of course). If it doesn’t, we wonder why. Scrap it? Tweak it? Or find a new audience?
MoS is, at its core, a collection of interesting stories from interesting people. But beyond the entertainment value, we learn why the stories are beloved and break them down to understand what makes them work. And don’t we all want to be better storytellers?
Who’s this Max guy?
Moral of the Story is the brainchild (and at times, rebellious teenager) of Max Chopovsky.
Max is a commercial real estate broker, avid filmmaker, and lover of experiences (he’s the ninja turtle). He loves a good story almost as much as he loves meeting interesting people, which he did a lot on his last show, FIVEinSIXTY. This podcast is his way of meeting said interesting people, hearing said good stories, becoming a better storyteller, and sharing the wealth with the world.
He is also known to refer to himself in the third person. Only in special circumstances, of course.
